An elegant mission revival building next to the Whitney Museum was built in 1940s as memorial to those men and women from Behar County who lost their lives in World War II.
A plaque inset to the pink stucco that covers the walls of the building reads as follows:
"MEMORIAL HALL
WORLD WAR II
Dedicated to the memory of those from Bexar County who lost their lives in World War II
"To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die"
The building is surrounded with total of five long bronze plaque stopped with Eagles listing the honor roll of names of everyone from Bexar County who died while serving in WWII. Each Honor Roll plaque consists of 3 columns of 80 names, without ranks or branch of service.
Two additional plaques list the names of the World War II Memorial Auditorium founders.
In 2018 the WWII Memorial Hall at Brackenridge Park in San Antonio TX is used as meeting rooms, event space, lecture hall, and event space for the Witte Museum.
