James C. McGrew

Born in 1813, James McGrew was a Preston County businessman who served as a Pro~Union advocate in the Richmond Convention of 1861. His calls for Union loyalty helped create the statehood movement in WV. He served in the stste's first legislatures and the US House. The home he built here and lived in until his death in 1910 was added to the National Register in 1993.
