ADELAIDE, August 1. 1898
Within the last four weeks no less than three fires have occurred at the Supreme Court Hotel. Early this morning one fire broke out in an upstairs room, although a night watchman had been engaged by the proprietress. Damage to the extent of only £3 was done before the outbreak was extinguished. All the inmates of the hotel profess entire ignorance of the cause of the lire.
LATER.
It appears that within the last few weeks seven fires in all have been extinguished in the hotel, but all were not reported to the papers by the police. Detectives are endeavouring to unravel the mystery.
