Laxey Station is the interchange for the Manx Electric Railway (M.E.R.) and the Snaefell Mountain Railway.
The Station is 7.10 miles from Derby Castle - Douglas, the southern terminus, and 10.68 miles from Ramsey, the northern terminus, of the M.E.R. and is located at Pole Number 359.
As a light railway or tramway the Station like all the station on the M.E.R has no raised platform and passenger alight from ground level.
The Snaefell Mountain Railway is 5 miles in length and operates on a track which has a 3 ft 6 in gauge to accommodate the third (central) rail which provides braking on the steep gradients.
The station buildings incorporate a booking office for both railways, a small cafe and toilets.
