NGS 'EUGENE CBL 100' Calibration Baseline Disk - Eugene, OR - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

I recovered this National Geodetic Survey Calibration Baseline Station in good condition. It is a brass disk monumented in a round concrete monument flush with the ground and surrounded by three white wooden witness posts. My posted coordinates will place you very close to this station.

THE BASE LINE IS LOCATED ABOUT 7.2 KM (4.5 MI) NORTHWEST OF EUGENE AND 2.1 KM (1.3 MI) SOUTHWEST OF SANTA CLARA. THE BASE LINE RUNS ALONG AND IS APPROXIMATELY PARALLEL WITH THE WESTERN EDGE OF THE NORTHWEST EXPRESSWAY.

FROM THE 0 MARK, THE 100, 150, 430 AND 1200 MARKS RUN NORTH IN A STRAIGHT LINE BETWEEN THE EXPRESSWAY AND A RAILROAD SWITCHING YARD. EACH STATION IS SURROUNDED BY THREE 14 CM (5.5 IN) SQUARE WOODEN POSTS, PAINTED WHITE, PROJECTING APPROXIMATELY 1.0 M (3.3 FT) ABOVE THE GROUND. TAPING MARK WAS NOT MEASURED AT THIS TIME.

TO REACH THE BASE LINE FROM THE JUNCTION OF BELTLINE ROAD AND INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 5 (EXIT 195B), LOCATED ON THE NORTH SIDE OF EUGENE, GO WEST ON BELTLINE ROAD FOR 9.2 KM (5.7 MI) TO THE NORTHWEST EXPRESSWAY EXIT RAMP. PROCEED ONTO THE EXIT RAMP TO THE T-INTERSECTION WITH THE NORTHWEST EXPRESSWAY. TURN LEFT AND GO SOUTH ON THE NORTHWEST EXPRESSWAY FOR 0.3 KM (0.2 MI) TO THE 1200-METER POINT ON THE RIGHT. CONTINUE SOUTH ON THE NORTHWEST EXPRESSWAY FOR 1.2 KM (0.7 MI) TO THE 100-METER MARK ON THE RIGHT.
