['Ages ago' I stopped and photographed another 'Themed Homemade Mailbox', not quite directly opposite, and I am still looking for those photos. When I saw it again in my travels I thought that I should at least get the accurate coordinates of it.]
Subsequently, I pulled up into the driveway where this yellow version of 'Ossie Ostrich', of fame, from Daryl Somers "Hey, Hey, It's Saturday" TV show in the 1980's, look-a-like Letterbox is placed. I didn't realise, but Ossie had a start in 1971, but when Daryl got Ossie on his show it became well known in Australia. It was last seen on TV in 2010. (

It looks like this Letterbox is made from: the Body, being a truck fuel tank, Legs being bent reinforcing steel rods, Neck is a curved rod, Head is a steel ball with a couple metal spatulas for the beak, and the Tail a suspension bracket with a spring.
