The Shady Grove School is a one-story building constructed by the WPA in 1936-1938. It is built of uncut native sandstone which has been painted white. The roof is hipped with projecting eaves. The double-door entrance is recessed within an arched entry. The ribbon window units have been partially infilled with wood, and now have fixed panes. Concrete block additions have been added to the east and west of the school, with an addition to the rear.
The school is still in active use and schools 145 children Pre-K to 8th grade. The school is addressed as 11042 West Shady Grove Road and is part of the Hulbert School District. The school serves primarily Native American children.
