This white painted cast-iron signpost can be found in the Angus countryside on the B957 road between the town of Kirriemuir and the village of Tannadice just west of the bridge over the River South Esk at Justinhaugh.

It is situated on the corner of a junction with a minor road that heads southwards for a mile and a half, eventually reaching the A90 dual-carriageway. The only 'finger' points down this road towards the town of Forfar (5 3/4 miles), the other directions are west to Kirriemuir (5 1/4 miles), and east to Tannadice (1 1/4 miles), the B957 is displayed here instead of arrows or a finger.

A similar signpost can be found on the eastern side of the bridge at another junction with a minor road. In both cases a modern roadsign which replaced both is adjacent, but the old signposts are still standing.

Historic significance:
These were the original signposts on the rural roads in the area, and were replaced by the current signs in the 1960s. This is one of the few that remain.
