The Soderman building was originally constructed as a two story frame building. It was converted to concrete construction and housed a bar on the ground floor and a rooming house for Scandinavian miners on the top floor. Over the years it has had commercial uses on the main floor but retained the rooming house purpose on the top floor. It's recent use has been as a bed and breakfast with an interesting variation on the breakfast part.
