Govindas] I fully agree with their description, not just of the food, but of the relaxed viewing and atmosphere of the film.
You will need to phone and book ahead of time to make sure that you can get a place. So there are three options:
* Dinner only: $23 - great vegetarian buffet, with dessert/drinks extra.
* Movie only: $19 - Check out the options and times, online.
* Movie/Dinner package: $37 - desserts & drinks extra - allow at least half an hour to enjoy the meal before the movie time starts.
Not too long ago I had noticed that Australia did not have an entry in this category, and when I found out that Govindas was showing the movie, "Wonder", with Owen Wilson and Julia Roberts as the supporting actors, I made sure that I could get to Sydney in time to make the session.
Julia Roberts has been a favourite of mine, since I first saw her in 'Pelican Brief', and again she played a very believable role. The only thing that Govindas could have done to help the atmosphere, would have been to supply tissues! The large cushions to recline on while watching the movie are of a style that I could only imagine would be suitable in a bordello.
While Govindas has a great buffet, you can also order specific main courses from their menu.
Access: Parking on the street is very limited on Darlinghurst Road, and only by timed, paid ticketing from machines on the footpath. And there is a time limit of paying is ONE hour before 6pm, and THREE hours after 6pm, and being more expensive/hour before 6pm, than after 6pm. Public transport is quite convenient, so may be preferable.
