Located just south of the south end of the Coos Bay Boardwalk is a small plaque on the ground next to a small tree that reads:

MILL SLOUGH HISTORY


constructed in 1921
to keep bay water
out of central Marshfield
(now Coos Bay).

The Coos History Museum placed a dozen historical markers along Front Street to highlight current and former buildings and structures that once existed along this former business district.
