Built in 1868, the barn which houses the Dunn Community center was part of a farm belonging to the Dunn family and remained in the family until 1996. At that time, a developer purchased the land and built the Valley Ridge housing development. He also restored the barn and presented it and some additional land to the Exeter township. The Exeter library lived in the bottom level of the barn until the new library was built on the extra donated land about 2010. The township then began to use the whole barn as a community center. The upper level is an open and airy room in which meetings and classes are held. The lower level is now offices with one of them providing an office for the Exeter Township Parks and Recreation Department.
The story about the Dunn barn's history can be found here. (
