The village of Thornton lies between the large towns of Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy in the kingdom of Fife in Scotland. The golf course lies on the east side of the village on the opposite side of the East Coast railway line.
The parkland course is bounded by trees and lies in a sheltered location between the railway line to the west and the River Ore to the east. The clubhouse is centrally located and nearly all of the holes run in a north/south direction, the run from the 14th to the 17th have the river on the left hand side. The par is 70 with four short holes and two par fives.
The course can be found along the end of Station Road and then under the railway tunnel to emerge towards the car park.
