Named after a community leader, Ruthie Watson Park is an open, passive space located at the southwest corner of Grandview Street and Lincoln Avenue. The park provides a centrally located community park and serves as a portion of the proposed Lincoln Avenue Trail (to be built in 2014).
The park acts as a gathering place to play checkers or take a stroll along the paved walkway which will feature pedestals honoring civic, religious, and other citizens who played a key role in the history of the neighborhood. The park also includes a bus shelter for Lake Xpress patrons, a drinking fountain, and restrooms.
