Pützchens Markt ist ein traditionsreicher Jahrmarkt im rechtsrheinischen Bonn-Pützchen. Seit Anfang des 18. Jahrhunderts findet er jedes Jahr im Spätsommer statt. Heute gehört er zu den größten Jahrmärkten Deutschlands mit über einer Million Besuchern pro Jahr.

Mit der Elektrifizierung Bonns Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts haben sich auch die Fahrgeschäfte und Stände auf Pützchens Markt verändert. Um die großen Strommengen bereitstellen zu können, die die neuartigen Attraktionen antreiben, wurden auf dem Gelände drei Turmstationen gebaut. Dort wurde der per Oberlandleitungen angelieferte Strom zu niedrigeren Spannungen transformiert. Die Oberleitungen wurden inzwischen entfernt und die Kabel liegen unterirdisch, aber auch heute werden die Turmstationen noch während des Jahrmarkts zur Transformation genutzt. Denn die Fahrgeschäfte und Attraktionen sind heute mehr denn je auf immense Strommengen angewiesen.

Dies ist die mittlere der drei Turmstationen.

Pützchens Markt is a traditional fair in Bonn-Pützchen on the right bank of river Rhine. Since the beginning of the 18th century it takes place every year in late summer. Today it is one of the largest fairs in Germany with over one million visitors per year.

With the electrification of Bonn at the beginning of the 20th century, the rides and booths on Pützchens Markt have changed as well. To be able to provide the large amounts of electricity that drive the new attractions, three substation buildings have been built on the grounds. There, the power supplied by overhead lines was transformed to lower voltages. The overhead lines have since been removed and the cables are underground, but even today, the tower stations are used for transformation during the fair. After all, the rides and attractions are now more than ever dependent on immense amounts of electricity.
