Keyhole Castle
"Keyhole Castle" was built by prominent Prince Albert businessman Sam McLoed (1853-1929), who was mayor of Prince Albert (1919-1920) and was also active in territorial and provincial politics. The house exemplifies the eclecticism and individualism popular in late 19th and early 20th century architecture. Designed by American architect Erich W. Wojahn, it was erected in 1913 in the Queen Anne revival style, characterized by the irregular massing, the polygonal tower and the steeply pitched tile roof. The scrolled gable and keyhole shape of the windows are rare features in Canadian architecture.
Keyhole Castle
