The water tower is build in 1901 for the first drinkingwatersystem in Schoonhoven and the Krimpenerwaard. The design is from F.A. de Jongh who is also responisble for the water towers in Zwijndrecht and Nijkerk. The tower has a hight of 50 meter in neoclassical style. In the tower is a appartment for machine operator, under the tower there is a 'reinwaterkelder' (clear water celler). It's lost it's function in 1982 and now managed by associaton Hendrick de Keyzer.
