The current Cross standing at the B68 is dated around the 1900's. The height is about 2.3 meters, the width about 1.4 meter. Several crosses were there already from about 1750 and have replaced previous crosses. The 10 red beech trees that frame the cross today were replanted in 2003. The inscription tells of the legend that Charlemagne is said to have celebrated the first Christian service in the region of Osnabrück at this point. Nearby is megalithic grave from the Stone Age called "Große Karlssteine".
