The way that this Obelisk is standing, it's tip is 7 metres above the footpath beneath it. It has a one metre high stepped square stone base, (no safety railing) which is supported on the eastern side by the 3 metre high stone retaining wall. The western side is supported by two stone pillars that are right next to the kerb of Murray Street.
The only illumination at night is the street lights
