A quote from the poem "For the Fallen" by Robert Laurence Binyon translated into Manx Gaelic on a Second World War Parchment Honour Roll in St. Paul's Church in Ramsey.
The quote is from the first line of the fourth stanza of the poem which was first published in The Times newspaper in London on 21 September.
The line in English is as follows:
"They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old"
and in Manx Gaelic:
"Tha jean ad gaase shenn,
Myr ta shin ta faagit, gasse shenn"
The iMuseum website gives the English translation as:
"They shall not grow old, as those who are left grow old"
which is a slight mis-quote.
The wooden-framed illuminated parchment honour roll can be found in St. Paul's Church in Ramsey. This honour roll is close to the framed parchment honour roll for those who gave their lives in WWI which hangsbelow a small crucifix.
The honour roll is decorated with crests of the 'The Three Legs of Man' and a 'Raven' at the top, and poppy flowers alongside the outer columns of names.

Below this are three columns of names (49 in total and the military ranks of those men when they died).
As the base of the honour roll in Manx Gaelic are the following words:
