A quote from the poem 'For the Fallen' on the Lonan and Laxey War Memorial - Laxey, Isle of Man.
The quote: "We will remember them" is the last line of the fourth stanza of the poem which was first published in the Times newspaper in London on 21 September 1914.
The quote appears on the central plaque of the memorial which bears the dedication shown below:
"TO THE SACRED
MEMORY OF THE FALLEN
OF LONAN AND LAXEY
WHO MADE THE SUPREME
SACRIFICE
1914-18 1939-45
" WE WILL REMEMBER THEM"
The memorial is comprised of three rectangular brown plaques with gold lettering mounted on the north wall of the Great Mine Washing floors site.
The central plaque records the dedication thus:
TO THE SACRED
MEMORY OF THE FALLEN
OF LONAN AND LAXEY
WHO MADE THE SUPREME
SACRIFICE
1914-18 1939-45
" WE WILL REMEMBER THEM"
The text is surrounded by a stylised laurel leaf design border and bear the crest of The Royal British Legion in the top left-hand corner.
The names of the fallen in the Great War are on the panel to the left whilst those of WWII are on the right.
Above the central plaque is a plain cross which has been designed to resemble a sword.
To the right of the plaques is a water-feature which again bears the crest of The Royal British Legion. In front of this feature is another plaque with the following text:
1914-18 THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERYMORE 1939-45
To the right of the memorial entrance there is a black sign with white lettering with the following text:

TO COMMEMORATE THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY
OF THE ENDING OF WORLD WAR II

VILLAGE COMMISSIONERS.
