City Hall occupies a one-story brick building at the corner of W. Main and "B" Avenue. It appears that the building may have once housed a bank. The entrance is located under a covered canted corner of the building. All the fixed-pane windows have brick arches, with the fanlights covered by metal siding. There are three single entry doors on the side of the building, one of which is covered with metal siding.
The town of Oilton was established in 1915 with the opening of the Cushing-Drumright Oilfield. Within five years, there was a population of over 2000. As the oilfield production declined, so did Oilton's population. Today there are approximately 1,000 residents, most of whom commute to employment in nearby towns.
Oilton has a Mayor/City Council form of government, with four Ward Councilmen. They meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. The municipal court is located in this building too, and the court meets the 4th Thursday of every other month.
