Elle est composée de fibre de verre, d’acier et possiblement de laque époxy. La technique de fabrication, l’année de réalisation et le nom de l’artiste sont malheureusement inconnus. Lors de l’inventaire effectué en 2015, la ville de Laval lui a donné le nom suivant : Sphinx à tête de faucon. L’œuvre représente, en effet, un animal ayant une position couchée tel le sphinx et une tête d'oiseau. Il s'agirait donc d’une représentation du dieu-soleil d’Égypte, Horus, représenté avec le corps d’un lion et la tête d’un faucon. Dans la littérature, on le nomme Hieracosphinx.

It is made of fiberglass, steel and possibly epoxy lacquer. The technique of manufacture, the year of realization and the name of the artist are unfortunately unknown. During the inventory made in 2015, Ville de Laval gave it the following name: Hawk-headed Sphinx. The work represents, in fact, an animal having a supine position such as the sphinx and a bird's head. It would be a representation of the sun-god of Egypt, Horus, represented with the body of a lion and the head of a falcon. In literature, it is called Hieracosphinx.
