'Foekepotten' is een oud gebruik dat vooral bekend is in zuid en Midden Limburg (Nederland)
De dinsdag vóór Aswoensdag gaan of gingen kinderen traditioneel langs de deur om een liedje te zingen en snoep in ontvangst te nemen. Vroeger waren dat ook vaak eieren, zeker op het platteland. De kinderen zingen dan: Foekepotterij, foekepotterij, geef mij een centje dan ga ik weer voorbij. Ik heb geen geld om brood te kopen, daarom moet ik foekepotte lopen'

Foekepotten' is an old use that is mainly known in South and Central Limburg (the Netherlands)
On Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, children traditionally go to the door to sing a song and receive sweets. In the past, these were often eggs, especially in rural areas.
