Bristow VFW Post 3656 maintains a war memorial area adjcent to its building which includes numerous military items of equipment, and several specific memorials to servicemen. This propeller is displayed in honor of World War II Ace, Major Quince Brown. It is mounted on a steel pole, with a marble plaque at the base, reading:

Fighter Group Top Ace of
WWII. (3-time Ace). First Pilot to Strafe

Killed in Action - Sept. 6, 1944
Major Quince Lucien Brown (12/7/1917 - 9/6/1944) was a native of Bristow, and earned many medals and honors during World War II as a Major in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He is buried in nearby Magnolia Memorial Cemetery. Maj. Quince Brown
