A West Virginia Historical Marker placed in 2008 by West Virginia Archives and History. Coordinates: N 37° 19.265 W 081° 17.572 Marker text: Erosion—Nature’s cutting tool—has chiseled away the stone on this spur of Flat Top Mountain, leaving this giant cockscomb more than 2700 feet above sea level. Several counties may be seen from these cliffs. Marker Title: Pinnacle Rock Marker Location: Marker is near Bluewell, West Virginia, in Mercer County on Coal Heritage Road (U.S. 52) north of Bluewell, on the left when traveling north. www.hmdb.org/marker.asp?marker=90566
